I was peer pressured

I’m the best version of myself

What's are some of your favorite things about being a Coach?

Helping people realize their potential.

I build art

If you can change one thing about your self what would it be? To be able to eat unlimited amounts of peanut butter

When you’re new to Crossfit it can be very Intimidating, was your first crossfit experience Intimidating to you? , if so how did you overcome it?

The thing I found intimidating was more the lingo, everything had so many names of things I had never heard of before. The classes were fast paced, so I just kept my head down and tried to learn one new thing a week.

What advice could you give someone that's never tried crossfit?

Just jump in. Don’t stick your toe in to test the water, just jump. Your future self will thank you.

When you’re  new to Crossfit it can be very Intimidating, was your first crossfit experience Intimidating to you? , if so how did you overcome it?

CrossFit wasn’t intimidating. But the first time I went to a gym other than my high school it was. I wasn’t sure if I actually knew what I was doing even though I had been an athlete for over 10 years.

What advice could you give someone that's never tried crossfit?

Try it. It’s difficult and challenging. Everyone Remembers their first day. Coaches and members want to see you come back because they know how much good it’s done for them. Everyone is here to help.

Samantha Rosenberg

I am a college student studying kinesiology. I love the barbell, more than I love Dave Castro!

Why did you become a CrossFit coach

I was overweight my entire life and I never thought I could be an athlete. I was honestly too afraid to try. Now that I’ve lost 90 pounds, and I am able to be a athlete. I wanted to help out people that are on that side , that don’t know how to overcome their weight and be healthy and be happy in their own skin. I want to be someones confidence that they are is missing! I am so passionate about CrossFit and I really share that passion and that love with others.

Who is your biggest influence in your life currently or in your past?

Sara sigmundsdottir is the reason I started CrossFit. Her and I have very similar stories. So yes I really look up to her.

Are you like this person today?

I think I am way more positive because of CrossFit. So I would say I am getting to be more and more like her.

If you can change on thing about your self what would it be?

I want a 200 pound snatch and a 400 pound Deadlift, and I wanted to be able to do 20 unbroken ring muscle ups. Soo in other words I want to be a better Crossfitter

When your new to Crossfit it can be very Intimidating, was your first crossfit experience Intimidating to you? , if so how did you overcome it?

My first time going to a CrossFit gym I almost didn’t go in. I was so so scared and I didn’t want to try it. I had a friend literally walk me in. After that I jut liked hangout with my new friends so I kept going.

What advice could you give someone that's never tried crossfit?

Just do it. It’s scary at first but I promise you will not regret it. You’ll have new friend and new hobby and you WILL fall in love with CrossFit!

Briana Velci

My name is Briana Velci or “Coach B” I am 30 years old, a mother of two boys 4 and 9 years old! I work Full time, am a college student and Have my L1 and work part time as Crossfit Coach here at Crossfit One Society.

Why did you become a crossfit coach? I became a crossift coach to share the love of health and fitness that I have been gifted with through crossfit. Helping people shatter their beliefs of what they thought was impossible is what makes me appreciate this sport and being a crossifit coach, showing people it is possible to reach their potential inside and outside of the gym.

How has crossfit changed your life? Crossfit has changed my life in so many ways not just in a physical since but it has really given me the ability to know that anything is attainable with confidence, practice and patience. I come from a back ground including: Soccer, Cross country, and track so basically i have always loved to run and really wanted to get out of my comfort zone and oh boy did crossfit do just that! I have to say it is the best thing I have done for myself and my boys.

What are some of your favorite things about being a crossfit coach? My absolute favorite thing about being a crossfit coach is seeing athletes overcome what they thought wasn’t possible whether that be jumping, running doing a pull-up. Some times we forget that our bodies are capable but we have to push our minds to make it happen and as a coach it is the most rewarding feeling to see the smiles on an athletes face when they have truly overcome their fears.

What is one thing non fitness related about yourself you can share with us? One thing non fitness i can share with you would be that I really enjoy spending my “free” time with my family we have always been close and enjoy getting together as much as possible.

who is your biggest influence in your life currently or in your past? My biggest influence in my life would have to be my Grandmother Sadie, She always has and always will be my idol. She has tought me to be strong and always strive for more. She is 90 years old and still travels the world. My greatest wish would be to have the drive and energy that she does when I’m her age.

Are you like this person today? Am I like her today? Well.. I really hope that I am, i know that i take every bit of advise from her with the upmost respect and hope that with every passing year I become more like her.

If you can change on thing about your self what would it be? If i could change one thing about my self it would be to slow down at times. Like my grandmother i have the tendency to take on so much. Its okay to stop and smell the roses sometimes.

When your new to crossfit it can be very intimating, was your fist crossfit experience intimidating to you? If so how did you overcome it? I can remember my first crossfit class like it was yesterday. I remember being intimidated at first but it was such a welcoming experience from all the athletes and coaches that really made me feel welcomed and eager to learn more. The weights were by far the most intimidating to me as I’ve always been a runner. But, with the patience from myself and coaches i new it was something I really wanted to learn.

what advice could you give someone that never tried crossfit? Anyone can do CrossFit: The workouts are scalable, which means that people of all fitness levels can come to a box and do the workout of the day. When it comes to barbells, box jumps, and burpees, you need more than physical strength. You need mental toughness. Anything is possible.
